Understanding God and the Bible
God is a Supreme Being and as humans, we won't be able to fully understand His greatness, but we can be sure that He wants us to know Him and seek Him. Thus, He left us the Bible so we can understand a little bit better who He is and how He does things.
Although some things in the Bible require lots of study to be understood, the important matters of faith are simple and easy to understand. The important thing is to take everything with a good heart and understand it wisely.
How do I know God is Real?
Jesus came to Earth as a human, and people were able to see him and live with him. However, the Bible says that nobody has ever seen the Father, only Jesus (John 1:8). This is due to God’s extreme holiness and greatness. Nevertheless, His presence is often experienced as a warm, peaceful, and joyful feeling that brings rest to your weary souls. His presence usually lingers among us during worship times and where the gospel is being preached. For the ones who have experienced God’s presence and miracles, there is no more doubt that God is real. In the Old Testament times God chose to show Himself with miracles and wonders. Also, Jesus proved that he was God through miracles and by resurrecting from the dead. He declared about himself: "I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25). God shows Himself to the world through supernatural things. However, most of the time He won’t show Himself in our lives until we seek Him with a sincere heart.
Has the Bible been Changed Over Time?
No, the Bible hasn’t been changed. The original languages of the Old Testament are Hebrew and Aramaic. There were people between the Jews of the Old Testament who dedicated their lives to copying the scriptures and they had to be extremely accurate at doing this. The earliest manuscript of the New Testament is dated as early as the second century. The oldest manuscripts are not all in one place. They can be found in private collections, libraries, and museums around the world.
